(June 15, 2023)—Otter Co-op’s 101st Annual Meeting was not only highlighted by the exciting patronage reimbursement announcement but also by CEO Jack Nicholson's announcements on Otter Co-op's significant impact within its community in 2022.

Through sponsorships and donations, a remarkable $419,000 was contributed to support more than 125 local organizations and non-profits. Additionally, Nicholson proudly unveiled Co-op’s latest sponsorship—the awarding of a $50,000 community grant to Julia’s Junction as part of the Community Spaces program, in collaboration with Federated Co-operatives Limited.

Julia’s Junction, an upcoming inclusive playground in West Kelowna, holds a grand vision: to establish a truly inclusive environment where individuals of all abilities and disabilities—whether physical, social, emotional, or cognitive—can play, interact, and thrive together, alongside their friends and family. Situated in the heart of Westbank Town Centre Park, this project is currently under construction and is set to open to the community in August. Its purpose is to provide a safe, engaging, and fun space where barriers dissolve, allowing everyone in the community to feel included.
